Job Description

We are seeking a Paper Machine Asset Leader to oversee and optimize the performance of an assigned tissue machine. This role is responsible for ensuring safety, environmental compliance, quality, productivity, continuous improvement, and cost management while leading projects and process enhancements. The Paper Machine Asset Leader will also manage and develop a Process Lead, support machine operations, and coordinate regular maintenance downtimes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead safety programs, enforce protocols, investigate incidents, and ensure LOTO and environmental compliance.
  • Maintain product quality through audits, corrective actions, product development support, and resolution of rejected products.
  • Set production goals, reduce losses, improve process efficiency, and lead DOR/WOR performance reviews.
  • Develop and execute CAPEX projects, manage operational budgets, and coordinate equipment maintenance downtime.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop technical teams through effective training, SOPs, Qual-cards, and performance management.
  • Promote employee engagement, teamwork, accountability, and strong communication.
  • Provide leadership coverage in the Superintendent’s absence.
  • Apply strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, delegation, and time-management skills to drive continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing or engineering experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn production systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, machinery, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment with exposure to noise, heat, chemicals, and machinery.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb on various surfaces as required.
