Job Description

If you’re looking to make a difference in your own backyard, this career is for you.

You know that to make a meaningful contribution there needs to be connection and collaboration across the teams. Here’s your opportunity to help our people make a big impact.

In this role, you'll:

You’ll be right at the centre of managing incidents across the network, with a strong focus on asset operations. You’ll be based on the control room floor at the Rail Operations Centre, supporting both the existing fleet and the new regional fleet, making sure trains are always where they need to be.

While you won’t have direct reports, you’ll still be expected to lead from the front, offering guidance and support to the wider team and stepping in as the escalation point when needed.

About you

You’re someone who can manage operations for NSW independently and stay calm under pressure. Your background will come from railway operations, airline operations, freight rail operations, or bus and coach operations, and it’s even better if you’ve had experience repairing trains or working in maintenance. You’ll have proven ability in handling incident reporting on a large scale, managing multiple incidents across wide areas in time-sensitive situations.

Safety is always front of mind for you, and you take a hands-on approach to stakeholder management, communicating openly, clearly and honestly with people at all levels. You bring sharp analytical thinking and strong attention to detail, and you’re looking for a busy, hands-on role where you can make a real impact.

This is a shift work position on a 24/7 roster, so you’ll need to be available to work within those parameters.
