Asset Coordinator

Chatswood | Fixed-term contract 4-6 months with potential for extension | Multi-site role

Uniting is looking for an experienced Asset Coordinator to join our Property team, based in Chatswood and supporting several Uniting sites across Sydney’s North Shore and surrounding areas, including Beecroft, Turramurra and Normanhurst.

This is a hands-on coordination role focused on keeping our buildings, facilities and assets safe, compliant and performing as they should. You’ll coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance, oversee contractors and maintenance teams, support property projects and help ensure our assets continue to meet the needs of the people who use our services.

You’ll have a good mix of operational responsibility and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on asset compliance, risk management, budgets and lifecycle planning.

What you’ll be doing

  • Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance across a portfolio of Uniting sites.
  • Lead property and maintenance projects, ensuring work meets lifecycle, WHS, compliance and service requirements.
  • Supervise internal maintenance staff and external contractors, ensuring work is delivered safely, effectively and in line with agreed standards.
  • Monitor maintenance budgets, expenditure and resources, providing accurate reporting as required.
  • Maintain accurate asset records and ensure inspections, documentation and maintenance activities are completed on time.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with buildings, plant and equipment, ensuring legislative and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve issues and deliver effective maintenance outcomes.
  • Support a positive, safe and accountable work environment.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be an experienced maintenance, facilities or property professional who is comfortable coordinating multiple sites, managing contractors and making decisions that balance safety, compliance, cost and service delivery.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A trade qualification in maintenance, facilities management, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least three years’ experience in a similar asset coordination, facilities or property role.
  • Strong knowledge of building legislation, WHS and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing maintenance staff and external contractors.
  • Strong risk assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets and reporting.
  • Good knowledge of building codes, planning requirements and, ideally, aged care regulations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A current driver’s licence and the ability to travel between sites.

Experience working across aged care, healthcare, housing, hospitality or other complex property environments will be highly regarded. A degree in Property, Engineering, Built Environment or a related discipline would also be advantageous.

Why Uniting?

At Uniting, the work we do matters. Our properties and facilities support people across a wide range of services, and this role plays an important part in making sure those environments are safe, well maintained and fit for purpose.

You’ll join an organisation that is committed to making a difference, with a strong focus on our people, our communities and the quality of the services we provide.

This is a fixed-term opportunity with the potential for extension, subject to organisational requirements and funding.

Join more than 12,000+ employees working together to inspire people, enliven communities, and confront injustice.

In return, you’ll enjoy:

  • Access to outstanding not-for-profit salary packaging, helping you pay less tax and take home more of your income. Better still, your full annual benefit is available from 1 April 2026, allowing you to maximise your tax savings from the start of the FBT year.
  • Access to Fitness Passport, providing discounted access to hundreds of gyms, pools, and fitness facilities across Australia to help you live your best life.
  • Exclusive employee discounts through our U Rewards program.
  • The chance to do meaningful work every day for an organisation committed to inspiring people, enlivening communities, and confronting injustice.
