Asset Coordinator
M2P Engineering
Brisbane, Queensland > Salisbury
Full Time
As our Asset Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and controlling M2P’s fleet, plant, equipment and other assets across the business.
From light vehicles through to heavy plant and cranes, you will ensure our assets are available when required, maintained to the appropriate standard, accurately tracked and correctly allocated across projects and operational areas.
Based at our Salisbury workshop, you will work closely with Project Managers, Operations Managers, site teams, mechanics, suppliers and external service providers. You’ll coordinate maintenance schedules, repairs, inspections, equipment movements and mobilisation requirements while helping minimise downtime and keep our operations running efficiently.
This is a hands-on coordination role with real ownership and accountability. While the position has no direct reports, you will need the confidence to engage with stakeholders across the business, follow up outstanding actions and ensure maintenance and compliance requirements are completed.
We’re looking for someone with a maintenance planning and trade background who understands plant and equipment, preventative maintenance and the importance of having safe, compliant and reliable assets ready when they are needed.
You’ll make an impact by:
● Coordinating the availability, allocation and movement of fleet, plant and equipment across M2P’s projects and operational areas
● Planning and coordinating preventative maintenance, servicing, repairs and inspections
● Monitoring maintenance schedules and following up outstanding work to minimise downtime
● Raising and managing work orders through to completion
● Liaising with Project Managers and Operations Managers to understand upcoming asset requirements
● Coordinating fleet and equipment mobilisation, commissioning, transfers and demobilisation
● Working with mechanics, suppliers and external service providers to arrange maintenance and repairs
● Coordinating critical spare parts and consumable requirements to minimise equipment downtime
● Maintaining accurate asset registers, maintenance records and supporting documentation
● Monitoring fleet and equipment utilisation, compliance, downtime and maintenance costs
● Coordinating the procurement, collection and delivery of parts, vehicles and equipment as required
● Supporting the procurement and onboarding of new fleet and assets
● Ensuring servicing, inspection and compliance records remain current and audit-ready
● Supporting compliance with relevant safety, NHVAS and Chain of Responsibility requirements
● Identifying opportunities to improve asset reliability, maintenance planning and fleet utilisation
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
● Previous experience in maintenance planning, asset coordination, fleet management or a similar role
● A relevant mechanical or trade background
● Practical knowledge of preventative maintenance, fabrication workshop equipment, heavy vehicles, mobile plant and assets
● Experience coordinating servicing, repairs and inspections
● Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing operational priorities
● Confidence working with Project Managers, Operations Managers, tradespeople, suppliers and external providers
● Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
● A proactive, solutions-focused approach and willingness to take ownership
● Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
● The ability to work independently while contributing to a broader operational team
Ideally, you will also have:
● Experience within mining, construction, engineering, transport or heavy industry
● Exposure to fleet or asset management systems
● Experience using IVMS, ERP or asset management software would be highly regarded
● Knowledge of NHVAS, Chain of Responsibility and fleet compliance requirements
● A current Australian driver’s licence
● Availability to work Monday to Friday from our Salisbury workshop
