He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Council’s Financial Strategy and Reporting department has an opportunity for an Asset Accountant to join the Financial Compliance team.

This is a critical role for the Council and will focus on ensuring accurate accounting and valuation of fixed assets across Auckland Council and its CCOs.

You could expect to work on:

· Managing Work-in-Progress (WIP) capitalisation and reporting.

· Working with stakeholders on vested asset accounting

· Working with external valuers to ensure accurate asset valuations.

· Assisting with policy updates and supporting audits and queries.

He kōrero mōu: About you

This role requires experience in the accounting and finance space. You will have experience in similar roles within large, complex organisations.

We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:

· Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, or commerce.

· Accounting Technician or Chartered Accountant qualification.

· 3–5 years’ experience in an accounting environment.

· Strong knowledge of accounting standards and legislation.

· Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
