In this role you’ll:

Provide strategic leadership and governance for the acceptance of asset information, data, and documentation associated with new, upgraded, or modified road assets. The role ensures accuracy, completeness, compliance with organisational policies and standards, and fit for purpose to support decision making and lifecycle optimisation.

To achieve this, you will:

  • Implement the Asset Acceptance governance framework, policies, and standards aligned to organisational objectives.

  • Define decision rights, approval thresholds, and escalation pathways for asset information acceptance.

  • Sponsor improvements to interoperability across corporate asset information systems and master data structures.

  • Chair periodic reviews on acceptance performance, audit outcomes, and risk/issue trends; publish improvement roadmaps.

  • Build capability by leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team. • Engage senior stakeholders to embed a culture of data quality and compliance across Transport.

This is a 2-year Fixed Term Opportunity up to 30/06/2028 and is located from any of our state-wide office bases (Grafton, Newcastle, Parkes, Milsons Point, Wollongong or Wagga).

About You:

The role will require knowledge and experience in:

  • Road acts/regulations in road reserves and knowledge of governance requirements for road asset acceptance process

  • Road asset lifecycle management, configuration and data quality dimensions applied to asset creation, handover, and operational readiness.

  • Communication, negotiation, and problem solving experience at an executive and external stakeholder level.

Essential requirements:

  • A four-year engineering degree qualification from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualification acceptable under the Washington Accord for recognition within Australia; and/or relevant technical university qualifications with experience.
