Experience

  • Experience in case management with vulnerable children & families, an asset.

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in Physical Therapy

Other Education and Training

  • Bachelor of Speech Language Pathology is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Social Work is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy is acceptable

  • Intermediate - Variety of computer programs
  • Intermediate - Verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate - Written Communication Skills
  • Intermediate - Interpersonal skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to research best practice
  • Negotiation, conflict resolution and mediation skills.
  • Ability to plan/organize/coordinate with other multidisciplinary team members
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of local human service organizations, resources & referral procedures
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and openness to working w/ diverse populations
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others as required
  • Knowledge in applicable health promotion and health prevention initiatives
  • Knowledge of the Child and Family Service's Act
  • Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
  • Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking
  • Knowledge in trauma services necessary to delivery of quality care
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Knowledge in individual assessment and counselling skills
  • Ability to establish/maintain satisfactory working relationships
  • Knowledge of HIPA
  • Knowledge of assessment, triage, treatment and case management.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions
  • Proven ability to cope well with sustained work related emotional pressure
