Salary Range: $49,545.00 - $69,000.00 Salary,

Travel Percentage: 20 - 30%, The Buckeye Ranch is seeking an Assessment Counselor/Social Worker to join our Same Day Access team (SDA). The Assessment Counselor/Social Worker intervenes on behalf of clients and families to address environmental, financial, parental, etc. needs and accessing natural community supports. Completes diagnostic assessment and referral to address mental health/emotional needs of clients as well as their families. Maintains a customer service focus for all customers including families, referral sources, and collaterals.

Schedule Information: In office (Mon – Thurs), Remote (Friday)

The Assessment Counselor/Social Worker will

  • Assess clients for appropriate level of care, including behavioral examples, including frequency, duration, severity, and environmental impacts.
  • Identify history of trauma, adversity and/or toxic stress that influence presenting problem(s), functioning, and family interaction styles.
  • Determine the level of immediate and future risk of abuse or neglect to children.
  • Provides non-billable services as needed while conferring with collaterals and ensuring it is in the best interest of the client, case plan, and treatment plan as applicable.
  • Participate as an active contributing member of treatment teams, departmental committees, and other Ranch and external working groups as assigned or appropriate.
  • Uses trauma-informed, focused interventions to engage clients. Educates clients, family members, and other providers about healthcare conditions, prevention, available treatments, illness and whole health self-management, peer support and recovery.

Qualifications: The right Assessment Counselor/Social Worker applicant has:

  • A master’s degree in social work, or counseling.
  • Previous experience as a social worker, counselor, mental health specialist, or therapist.
  • An active Ohio LSW, LPC, or MFT.
  • An active driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
