Job Description

Assembly Trainer

Purpose

The Assembly Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for assembly line employees to ensure consistent production quality, efficiency, and safety. This role plays a key part in onboarding new hires, upskilling existing team members, and maintaining compliance with company standards and procedures.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of knowledge and experience in current role
  • 3+ years of experience in assembly, manufacturing, or production environment preferred
  • Prior experience as a trainer, lead, or supervisor preferred

Position Responsibilities

  • Guide, coach, and motivate team members to meet performance expectations
  • Serve as the first point of contact for questions, issues, or escalations
  • Support onboarding and training of new employees
  • Provide constructive feedback and encourage skill development
  • Assign and monitor daily tasks to ensure efficient operations
  • Collaborate with leadership and Quality Assurance to identify skill gaps and training needs
  • Monitor work to ensure it meets quality standards and company requirements
  • Enforce compliance with safety, regulatory, and organizational policies
  • Address quality or safety concerns promptly
  • Monitor process adherence and report non-compliance or recurring training issues
  • Assist in identifying underperformance and provide corrective guidance
  • Recognize and reinforce strong performance
  • Escalate larger issues to supervisors or managers when needed
  • Maintain records of training, attendance, or performance issues

Tasks

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and shifting time requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate in small and large group environments
  • Must be an engaged trainer with a “hands on” approach to situations that arise
  • Work closely with leadership and employees
  • Strong knowledge of assembly techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to train employees with varying skill levels and learning styles
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
