Job Description

Selux, in Highland, is currently accepting applications for an Assembly Technician

Pay rate: $18.00-$18.50/hour

Assemblers use a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, work instructions and test equipment. Indidviduals will perform a series of operations to correctly assemble mechanical and electrical parts with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Employ lean manufacturing concepts to support continuous improvement and waste elimination.
  • Utilizes manufacturing knowledge to improve process operations and affect positive change.
  • Perform assembly tasks following standardized work instructions and procedures while meeting production standard times to ensure continuous work flow.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery to assemble components accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines during assembly processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth assembly operations.
  • Communicate openly and proactively to address any challenges or issues that may arise during the assembly process.
  • Performs ERP transactions accurately to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide hands on job function training to coworkers as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to meet production standard times.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced continuous workflow production environment while maintaining quality standards and meeting deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English.

The Council of Industry has been the Hudson Valley's manufacturer’s association since 1910. We are a privately funded, not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting our member firms.
