This role is responsible for the precise assembly, wiring, and inspection of medical devices (hearing aids) following strict work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The Assembler will regularly use microscopes and specialized hand tools, requiring a high degree of dexterity and accuracy
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Precision Assembly & Finishing:
Wire and solder small components.
Assemble mechanical and electrical parts using small hand tools, a high-speed burr, and an ultrasonic cutter
Prepare devices for wiring (including creating layout guides) and perform final finishing (trimming, sanding, and buffing).
Quality Control & Testing:
Conduct thorough quality checks, including electro-acoustic testing, visual inspection, and listening checks.
Program/reprogram devices as required.
Production & Compliance:
Work on the production line with consistent speed and accuracy, meeting all attendance, quality, and productivity expectations
Strictly adhere to all safety policies and read/comprehend written work instructions and SOPs.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate documentation and records
Interpret and input data into application-based systems.
Knowledge and Skills (Competencies)
Dexterity: Great hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for working with small components.
Technical Tools: Proficiency in using a microscope and small hand tools.
Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, ability to work with a sense of urgency, and ability to adapt to a dynamic workplace.
Communication: Ability to read, write, and speak English and follow all written and verbal instructions.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Required Education:
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred Experience:
1+ year of data entry experience strongly preferred
1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
Physical Demands: Able to stand or sit for long periods of time. Able to lift 25 pounds by self and 50+ pounds with a team lift (i.e. sitting, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, etc)
Compensation: Depending on your work location, the target hourly rate for this position can range from $18.50 - $21.88. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Compensation for roles at GN depend on a wide array of factors including but not limited to location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
