­­Assembler/Solderer B – Full-Time Onsite

Title: Assembler/Solderer B

Location: Buena Park, California

Type: Full-Time Onsite

Salary Range: $21.00 - $23.00 (based on education and experience)

Under general supervision, performs assembly and solder operations according to manufacturing specifications and process instructions. Maintains accurate work in progress paperwork.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Using assembly instructions/drawings/process specifications and various small hand tools, builds various electromechanical assemblies to meet specifications.
  • Build wire harness using wire list and schematic.
  • Using solder seal, vapor phase solder and touch-up irons, solders assemblies in accordance with process instructions.
  • Visually inspects assemblies to ensure compliance to specifications.
  • Fills out and maintains necessary paperwork. Ensures paperwork is compliant with quality instructions and manufacturing job instructions.
  • Actively participates in the Quality Improvement System.
  • Actively participates in Lean and 6s initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above
  • Understand and live by Leach International’s ethics and business conduct policies

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven interpersonal skills with direct experience working with cross-functional teams in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated technical literacy including the ability to analyze and manipulate data in support of manufacturing processes.
  • Intermediate to advanced verbal and written communication skills including the ability to develop and present information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to organize and manage multiple time-sensitive projects with limited supervision.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education equivalent
  • At least three years of experience in electromechanical assembly
  • Solderer certification STD-001
  • Ability to follow demonstrated assembly methods and techniques
  • Ability to successfully assemble various configurations of final assembly and subassembly parts and components
  • Ability to read and follow manufacturing and process specifications and schematics
  • Previous experience with small hand tools and soldering irons
  • Basic computer knowledge required

Preferred Requirements

  • Aerospace industry experience
