Job Category: ManufacturingThe Seats Assembler II ensures that assembling requirements are fulfilled in accordance with the production instructions received, assembles the product in accordance with approved procedures and assembly instructions. Verifies that materials used, and the assembled part meets product and process specifications. The Assembler works under the direct supervision of a Lead Assembler and/or Production Supervisor to satisfy work assignments.
The Assembler II is an experienced assembler who is proficient in 4-6 of the functions listed below. The Assembler II works independently with minimal guidance from a Lead Assembler and/or Production Supervisor.
Assignment of Functions or Duties:
- Perform assigned functions from oral and/or written instructions, drawings, or other manufacturing. Follow established procedures/work instructions for assigned function and handle materials in accordance with established procedures.
- Assembly Operation: Inspect quality of the components that form the sub-assembly and assemble components per specifications or instructions. Inspect the quality of the assembled components.
- Maintain expected progress of jobs in area of assignment and communicate problem areas or parts shortages.
- Observe good housekeeping and safety procedures and keep equipment, tools, and work area clean and orderly by performing 5-S duties and continued dedication to raising the bar.
- Exhibit teamwork in all you do, maintaining a positive and team-based attitude. Support peers in time of high demand by working hours assigned and overtime as required; also comply with scheduled start/stop times and break periods for the facility.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable.
- Finishing Operation: Verify quality of the sub-assembly and proceed to finish. Verify units built meet the product/customer specifications as required.
- Notify the Area Supervisor or Quality Inspector/Engineer if non-conforming equipment is detected. Identify the suspected non-conforming part to prevent further use of it.
- Follow and use Job Travelers, routing, and shop instructions. Document all operations as required.

Experience:
Required
- Must have a High School diploma or GED.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
- General knowledge of operating hand tools, portable power tools, and bench tools.
- Strong attention to detail, quality-focused, and willing to learn.
- Excellent communication skills. With area lead and or Supervisor.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to operate computer terminals and general software applications.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull, and grasp.
- Ability to stand/sit for sustained periods of time.
- Able and willing to lift 50 pounds frequently from the floor to tabletops, throughout the work shift.
- Able to Identify tap sizes, bolt sizes, thread pitch, different bolt types.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with assembly processes.
- Willingness to work flexible hours such as overtime.
Preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in assembly OR manufacturing setting. Is preferred but not necessary.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints desired.
