Job Description

Thompson First Group is seeking Assemblers for contract-to-hire positions with a local client. Candidates with experience in mechanical, electrical, or electronic assembly in a manufacturing environment are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, or electronic components, subassemblies, products, and systems according to work instructions and specifications.
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment to perform precise assembly operations.
  • Install components, wiring, fasteners, and casings using bolts, rivets, soldering, and micro-welding techniques as required.
  • Clean parts and finished assemblies using approved cleaning methods and materials.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain production equipment, tools, and a clean, organized work area.
  • Follow all safety procedures and actively contribute to a safe manufacturing environment.
  • Communicate with team members, leads, and supervisors to address issues, priorities, and production needs.
  • Support production planning activities and, for lead-level positions, assist with training and mentoring other assemblers.
  • Meet daily production goals while maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.

Qualifications

  • Experience in mechanical, electrical, or electronic assembly within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, and basic assembly equipment.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for working with small or detailed parts.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and assembly documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and productivity standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to communicate schedule changes as needed.
  • High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent experience.
  • Additional experience and the ability to guide or train others for lead-level positions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
  • Willingness to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
