We are currently seeking an Essentials Assembler to join our team in Memphis, TN.

Your Role at Batesville:

As an Essentials Assembler, you will be responsible for product assembly, proper care/handling of inventory, and always following safe practices and standard work procedures.

  • The expected pay for this role is $18.37 per hour. Actual compensation within this range may be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, skills, experience, and location.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure adherence to governmental regulations (DOT, OSHA) and company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve company performance.
  • Perform line work as required to meet production demands and simple assembly with basic hand tools.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and all applicable equipment.
  • Assist in the achievement of departmental and company goals.
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Computer literacy skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Work a flexible shift as needed.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice to Haves:

  • Ability to train/manage/lead/understand LEAN or CI activities and initiatives.
  • Three years of Production Line experience.
  • Forklift training with both sit down and standup lifts.
