Job Description

We have revolutionized allergy diagnostics and have been operating successfully in more than 90 countries for over 10 years with our diagnostic products and patented technologies. Our products help clarifying allergies in a single step – for humans and animals alike. Allergies are diagnosed in a highly specific manner so that patients receive help by their specialist in no time. We increase quality of life, enable personalized treatment, advance research and relieve our health system.

What We offer

  • A full-time position with real ownership from day one
  • An annual pass for Vienna's public transport, plus Pluxee vouchers
  • A team that cares as much about veterinary patients as human ones
  • A culture where questions, ideas, and pushback are genuinely welcome
  • A workplace shaped by sustainability, equity, diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, optimize, and characterize immunoassays (e.g., ELISA, multiplex, and array-based platforms)
  • Design, execute, and document analytical validation studies in accordance with established guidelines (e.g., CLSI), including assessment of precision (repeatability and intermediate precision), accuracy, linearity, analytical sensitivity/specificity, and calibration models/standard curves
  • Perform statistical analysis of assay data, including curve fitting/modeling, performance evaluation, and trend analysis
  • Plan, execute, and document verification and validation activities
  • Troubleshoot assay-related issues and drive continuous performance improvements
  • Prepare technical reports summarizing experimental findings, validation outcomes, and recommendations for further development
  • Present and communicate results clearly, including data interpretation and technical recommendations
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements for new and existing (legacy) assays

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field
  • Strong hands-on experience in immunoassay development and validation
  • Proven experience designing and executing analytical validation studies in accordance with CLSI guidelines, including assessments of precision, linearity, sensitivity, specificity, and robustness
  • Experience with calibration strategies, curve fitting (e.g., 4PL/5PL models), and assay performance characteristics, including dynamic range
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data evaluation using tools such as Excel, GraphPad Prism, R, Python, or similar
  • Structured, detail-oriented, and problem-solving-oriented working style
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to document, interpret, and present complex scientific data clearly and effectively

Compensation

For this position, we offer a market-competitive minimum annual gross salary of EUR 47.220 based on full-time employment, which is above the applicable collective agreement minimum salary. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

MADx – Macro Array Diagnostics GmbH

About MADx – Macro Array Diagnostics GmbH

Since the foundation of MADx in 2016, we produce reliable allergy and food intolerance tests for diagnostic clinics, laboratories, doctors' practices and hospitals.

In the beginning there was a vision to improve and modernise immunodiagnostics. Scientists - like our founders, Dr. Christian Harwanegg and Dr. Christian Sascha Dennstedt - always strive for disruptive innovation. So after more than a decade with leading companies in the field Dr. Christian Harwanegg decided to start his own enterprise in 2016. The goal was clear: The newly founded company MADx (Macro Array Diagnostics) should create an allergy test that is supposed to be better, more efficient and easier to use than the ones of the competition. In addition, we wanted to offer the entire value chain from test material to evaluation and interpretation of results, all under one roof.

A mammoth project? Without question, but worth the effort: for sure. Over the past years, we have launched two generations of the ALEX (Allergy Xplorer), which now tests for around 300 different allergens - in a single, non-invasive step. Our panel covers nearly 100% of the world's relevant allergens. We have developed proprietary hardware and software solutions that define new standards. We are constantly innovating and expanding our portfolio, as most recently with the FOX (Food Xplorer), a solution for the detection of IgG-mediated food intolerances.
