Job Description

Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager, Mobile Banking Products & Delivery is the Egypt business owner for assigned mobile and online banking capabilities, responsible for translating Retail Banking Group priorities into executable digital requirements, commercially viable propositions and successful customer launches.

The role owns assigned initiatives end-to-end from business requirement and business case through prioritization, stakeholder approvals, UAT, launch readiness, go-to-market and post-launch benefit realization. It acts as a key interface between Egypt Retail Banking, Group Digital / UAE teams, technology squads and control functions to ensure that the Egypt digital roadmap is delivered in line with customer, commercial, regulatory and operational objectives.

The position has expanded from project coordination / proxy ownership into a product ownership and commercialization role with measurable accountability for feature adoption, digital engagement, active usage, in-app cross-sell and delivery quality.

Key Result Areas

A. Product Ownership & Egypt Digital Roadmap

  • Own assigned Egypt mobile / online banking initiatives and represent the country business requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Convert business needs into clear requirements, user stories, customer journeys, acceptance criteria and MVP / release scope.

  • Partner with the Mobile Banking Product Owner / squad, Group Digital and UAE teams to align Egypt priorities with the group backlog and Digital 3.0 roadmap.

  • Support the Quarterly Priority Meeting (QPM) process by consolidating, challenging and prioritizing country demand across Retail Banking products, segments and digital squads.

  • Maintain delivery visibility, dependency tracking, risk escalation and country commitment follow-up for assigned roadmap items.

B. Commercialization, Business Cases & Go-to-Market

  • Develop business cases and commercialization plans for new features, journeys and propositions, including customer need, expected adoption, financial / commercial impact, cost impact and implementation dependencies.

  • Own go-to-market readiness for assigned launches including target segment, channel placement, customer communication, content approvals, FAQs, operational readiness, training and launch calendar.

  • Drive in-app cross-sell and product discovery opportunities across relevant Retail Banking products and ensure each launch has clear commercial and customer KPIs.

  • Conduct 30 / 60 / 90-day post-launch performance reviews and recommend corrective actions where expected benefits are not realized.

C. Customer Adoption, Engagement & Experience

  • Drive adoption and active use of delivered capabilities through in-app placement, communication, education and targeted activation.

  • Contribute to the growth of credentialed users, digitally active customers and feature usage, and support improvement of Android / iOS app ratings through experience enhancements.

  • Analyze customer feedback, complaints, drop-offs, usage analytics and market benchmarks to identify product and journey improvements.

  • Work with CRM / communications teams on push, SMS, email, WhatsApp and in-app journeys linked to launch and adoption objectives.

D. Delivery, Regulatory & Launch Governance

  • Coordinate business readiness across Technology, Operations, Marketing, Compliance, Legal, Risk, InfoSec and relevant vendors / squads.

  • Own business-side UAT planning, defect follow-up, sign-off readiness and launch acceptance for assigned initiatives.

  • Coordinate required CBE approvals / notifications, InfoSec reviews and penetration-testing dependencies through the relevant control owners before go-live.

  • Ensure production releases follow approved change, control and sign-off processes, with clear post-launch monitoring and issue escalation.

  • Maintain complete audit-ready documentation for requirements, approvals, UAT, business case, launch decisions and benefit tracking.

E. Digital 3.0 Localization & Innovation

  • Assess and localize relevant Group Digital 3.0 capabilities for the Egypt market in line with customer need, technical feasibility and CBE requirements.

  • Support Egypt requirements for dashboard / product discovery, quick actions, notifications, personalization, transaction insights and other mobile experience enhancements.

  • Identify practical opportunities to improve time-to-market, customer experience and commercial outcomes using approved digital capabilities and emerging technologies.

Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries, Working Relationships

Internal:

  • Head of Digital Banking & Innovation; Senior Manager E-Channels; Retail Banking product and segment heads; NEO; KYC; Deposits; Assets; Payments; Website; CRM / CVM; Marketing; Operations; Compliance; Legal; Risk; InfoSec; Finance; PMO; local Technology and Group Digital / UAE squads.

External:

  • Technology / digital vendors and service providers as applicable; supports regulatory and third-party engagement through the responsible internal functions.

Problem Solving

  • Convert ambiguous or competing business requests into structured product requirements and prioritized delivery options.

  • Balance customer value, commercial benefit, regulatory requirements, operational risk, technology feasibility and limited squad capacity.

  • Resolve cross-functional dependencies and escalate material blockers early to protect committed delivery dates.

  • Use data, customer feedback and market intelligence to identify root causes and recommend practical product / journey improvements.

  • Operate effectively in a matrix environment where delivery resources and decision makers sit across Egypt and Group functions.

Decision Making Authority & Responsibility

  • Own and recommend the business scope, requirements, priorities and commercialization approach for assigned mobile / online banking initiatives.

  • Challenge incomplete requirements, weak business cases or launches that are not commercially, operationally or control ready.

  • Recommend prioritization based on business value, customer impact, regulatory urgency, dependencies and delivery capacity.

  • Provide business acceptance / UAT recommendation for assigned initiatives and escalate unresolved risks prior to launch.

  • Own post-launch KPI tracking and recommend corrective action, enhancement or de-prioritization where expected benefits are not achieved.

  • Influence senior stakeholders and squads without direct authority to deliver country commitments within agreed timelines.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Technology or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in digital banking, fintech, digital product management, product ownership, digital channels, business analysis or product commercialization.

  • Strong understanding of mobile / internet banking journeys and Retail Banking products including accounts, deposits, cards, payments, transfers and digital servicing.

  • Hands-on experience with business requirements, user stories, Agile delivery, backlog prioritization, UAT, release management and go-to-market execution.

  • Commercial mindset with ability to build business cases and measure adoption, customer and financial benefits after launch.

  • Good understanding of banking control requirements including CBE approvals, InfoSec / penetration testing and production release governance.

  • Strong analytical, presentation, stakeholder-management, negotiation and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders, cross-functional squads and external vendors in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.

  • Excellent command of English and Arabic.

  • Own and represent Egypt's business requirements for mobile/online banking initiatives.
