Aspire FLP Trainee - Project Controls

Responsibilities:

To provide structured exposure and hands-on learning opportunities to high-potential graduates, enabling them to build core professional skills and experience, and develop readiness for future roles within the institution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Support the preparation and review of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for mechanical works.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Assist in quantity take-offs and measurement of mechanical services.
  • Support project documentation and reporting related to cost planning.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and quantity surveyors during estimation activities.
  • Verify Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs) and contractors' invoices.
  • Review measured works against contract documentation and project progress.
  • Assist in validating contractor payment requests.
  • Liaise with engineers, contractors, and project teams to resolve discrepancies.

Note: All FLP trainees are expected to undertake both operational and routine responsibilities within their assigned departments, in addition to contributing to project-based assignments.

Requirements:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering
  • 0-1 years of experience in related fields.
  • Understanding of construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of quantity surveying and cost estimation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a project-based environment.
