Aspire FLP Trainee – Internal Audit

Location: Karachi, Pakistan

Introduction to the Aga Khan University:

Key Responsibilities:

To provide structured exposure and hands-on learning opportunities to high-potential graduates, enabling them to build core professional skills and experience, and develop readiness for future roles within the institution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the planning and execution of integrated internal audits across academic, healthcare, support functions.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of risk management, governance, and internal control processes.
  • Participate in walkthroughs, process documentation, testing of controls, and evidence collection.
  • Analyze operational processes to identify control gaps, process improvement opportunities, and compliance risks.
  • Prepare audit working papers and contribute to the drafting of audit observations and reports.
  • Collaborate with audit team members and stakeholders to understand business processes and recommend practical improvements.
  • Gain exposure to auditing diverse operational areas within both the university and hospital environment.

Note: All FLP trainees are expected to undertake both operational and routine responsibilities within their assigned departments, in addition to contributing to project-based assignments.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 0-1 years of experience in related fields.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong numerical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and draw meaningful insights.
