START DATE: IMMEDIATELY Must have experience - please do not apply if you have no asphalt raking experience

We are a Calgary based General Contractor seeking an Asphalt Rakerman to join our dynamic team. The Asphalt Rakerman will be responsible for precisely raking and spreading hot asphalt to the proper grade, ensuring seamless asphalt seams and clean edges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rake and spread asphalt mixes to achieve accurate grades.
• Ensure precise joint matching with existing asphalt.
• Tamp and smooth joints, gutters, and connections to facilitate proper adhesion of asphalt mixtures to existing surfaces.
• Address any defects, including honeycombs, after tamping or rolling asphalt surfaces.
• Adhere strictly to our company's safety program, including active participation in safety meetings.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in asphalt raking.
• Own transportation and CSA-approved steel-toed work boots.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts as required.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting 20 lbs or more.
• Safety certifications are an asset.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Must be available to work long hours including evenings and weekends during the work season from April to December.
Must be able to work in extreme heat up to and could exceed 64 Celsius.
Must have CSA-approved safety boots.
Able to sit for a long periods and look over shoulder.
Able to climb up and down from equipment.
