This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year round

As a Distributer Operator, you are responsible to safely operate and drive truck equipped with tank to spray oil or bituminous emulsions on road surfaces. Perform daily inspections and maintenance on oil trucks, ensuring safe operation and proper upkeep. Operate trucks equipped with oil or bituminous emulsions, connecting hoses, regulating burners, and driving at constant speeds. Complete load tickets, assist construction crews, maintain truck information, manage inventory, clean nozzles, and barricade parking lots. When not operating, you may assist with paving operations including asphalt or base hauls while operating a tandem or tractor-trailer combination or water truck.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

  1. Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
  2. Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on oil truck.
  3. Safely and properly operates truck equipped with oil or bituminous emulsions.
  4. Connects hose from storage tank to truck tank and moves lever to fill pressure tank with bituminous liquid.
  5. Regulates burner to heat liquid and starts auxiliary pump.
  6. Drives truck at constant speed.
  7. Completes load tickets
  8. Assists construction crews while waiting to unload
  9. Maintains proper information in truck cab pouch
  10. Inventory and order tac
  11. Cleans tac nozzles
  12. Barricades commercial parking lots
  13. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written). Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
  14. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors
  15. Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

As a successful Distributor Operator, you will have:

  1. Ability to hold and maintain a Class A or B CDL license with tanker endorsement in accordance with all state and federal
  2. DOT/FMCSA regulations
  3. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and some Saturdays.
