METRO u Hrvatskoj je počeo poslovati krajem 2001. godine otvorenjem prvoga veleprodajnog centra na zagrebačkom Jankomiru. Danas tvrtka posluje s ukupno deset veleprodajnih centara u Zagrebu, Rijeci, Splitu, Zadru, Osijeku, Puli, Varaždinu, Poreču i Dubrovniku. Glavni klijenti METRO Hrvatska su mali trgovci, hoteli, restorani i ugostitelji (HoReCa), mala i srednja poduzeća, sve vrste ureda, tvrtki i institucija, kao i samozaposleni profesionalci. METRO Hrvatska nudi proizvode svjetske klase u mnoštvu kategorija - kao što su voće i povrće, opće namirnice, mliječni proizvodi, smrznuti i pekarski proizvodi, riba i meso, slastice, deterdženti i sredstva za čišćenje, proizvodi za zdravlje i ljepotu, mediji i elektronika, proizvodi za kućanstvo i odjeća - sve pod jednim krovom te po transparentnim i niskim veleprodajnim cijenama.
