The Department of Health and Human Services is responsible for delivery of the County’s public health and human services that meets the needs of our community’s most vulnerable children, adults, and seniors. The Department provides services through more than 120 programs at more than 20 locations. With over 2,000 employees, the Department of Health and Human Services is the largest County Department.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Asian American Health Initiative (AAHI) Program Manager I will guide and coach junior staff members and oversee the activities of the behavioral health program, health education program, and outreach & health promotion program. These programs engage the community through workshops, health fairs, community celebrations, and more. It also involves visiting community nonprofits to build partnerships and trust. This employee is also responsible for program development, program data management, monitoring contracts, and relationship management. A candidate fluent in one of the Asian languages is preferred, as the behavioral health and health education programs produce educational content in multiple Asian languages.
The selected candidate will be required to work evenings and weekend when needed. This position requires a driver’s license as the selected candidate will travel throughout the County to perform job duties.
This Position is ONLY Open to current Montgomery County Government Employees.
Experience: Considerable (3 years) of professional experience in developing, designing, implementing, and evaluation of community health programs for the Asian American or Pacific Islander community.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Driver’s License: Possession and maintenance at all times of a valid driver’s license from the applicant's state of residence.
