Anglophone West School District (ASD-W) is currently seeking an individual to join our Human Resources Department as Human Resource Officers (HRO) in our Woodstock Education Centre.

The Human Resources Department at ASD-W provides end-to-end HR support to over 5000 employees located across the district representing a variety of different business streams and services. Our five employee bargaining groups include teachers, educational support staff, custodial staff, bus drivers, professional support and management teams.

As a member of the Human Resources team, the successful candidate will be responsible to provide operational support based on the following areas of responsibility, as well as other related duties, programs and special projects as assigned.

Duties

The following position will provide support to the Human Resources and Payroll – Employee Resource Planning (ERP) Oracle Fusion system. We reserve the right to adjust the assignment based on operational needs however, geographical locations will not change unless there is mutual consent.

HRO – Core HR, Benefits, Time and Labour, and Absence

  • Supporting talent acquisition for permanent and casual/supply employees.
  • Facilitating the hiring cycle for new employees into the ERP system, including updates to current employee status.
  • Confirming and administering benefit eligibility for all employee groups.
  • Validating employee work schedules to ensure replacements are assigned and paid correctly.
  • Ensuring absence eligibility for all employee groups.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.

  • University degree in business administration, public administration or in a related field, with a major in human resources.

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in human resources.

  • Experience in a supervisory capacity over a department or unit in complex setting.

  • Written and spoken competency in English.

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. In the event that there are no candidates that demonstrate the essential qualifications required for the PB 4 level, we may consider appointing at a lower classification.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:

  • Coursework in human resources, a recognized Human Resources designation; diploma or certificate.

  • Experience working in a public education setting.

  • Experience working in a large complex (3000+ employees) unionized environment.

  • Experience working in a complex payroll setting.

  • Demonstrated computer literacy with strong skills in all MS Office products.

  • The incumbent must have excellent interpretation and analytical skills, and be able to work independently, accurately, and in a confidential manner.

  • Exceptional written, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS The following operational requirement(s) are also required

Occasional travel throughout the district may be required and will compensation will be in accordance with the provincial travel expenses policy. As such, candidates must possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible to obtain one.

SALARY This position is a Management Non-Union position and falls under Pay Band 4 range $59,046 - $82,576 per annum, based on a minimum of 36.25 hours per week. An employee may be required to work in excess of this amount from time to time, depending upon the nature of the employee’s work.
