The Opportunity:

Position: Student Attendant

Department: Transportation

Hours: Split shifts between morning and afternoon school bus runs, up to 30 hours per week (Shifts available Monday to Friday)

Salary: $24.63 per hour + 4% vacation pay

of Accountabilities:

• Work of limited complexity primarily attending to the physical needs of exceptional students
• Duties include:​
  • Assisting students with transportation to and from school, on community visits, at work locations
  • Entering & leaving school and moving around within the school
  • Assistance with feeding, hygiene, clothing & toileting
  • Care of catheterized students
• Tasks may also include general assistance in the supervision of students & providing general support
• Other related responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as may become necessary to the operation of the school
• Shifts can range in time frame depending on location, starting from 6:30am to 6:00pm and are split shifts during morning and afternoon bus runs.

Qualifications

• The ability to read & write, understand instructions and to relate to exceptional students
• Specific training, deemed essential by the Employer to meet the special needs of the student(s), may also be required
