Key Responsibilities

Looking for a career that combines technical expertise, hands-on fieldwork and professional development? This is an opportunity to join an experienced Asbestos Consultancy Team and build a rewarding career in a highly regulated, safety-critical sector.

Through structured training, industry-recognised qualifications and practical project experience, you'll develop the skills needed to help organisations manage risk, protect people and maintain safe environments across a diverse range of buildings and infrastructure projects.
  • As an Apprentice Asbestos Surveyor & Analyst, you will support the delivery of asbestos surveying, air monitoring, sampling and analytical services across a varied portfolio of client sites.
  • Working alongside experienced surveyors, analysts and technical specialists, you will gain practical experience while completing a Level 3 Asbestos Analyst & Surveyor Apprenticeship.
  • The role offers exposure to a wide range of sectors including commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and public sector environments.
  • You'll contribute to projects ranging from asbestos management surveys in occupied buildings to refurbishment and demolition surveys supporting major construction and redevelopment projects.
  • As part of your development, you will assist with site inspections, air monitoring activities, sample collection, data management and technical reporting, while developing a strong understanding of industry legislation, accredited quality systems and best practice standards.
  • Regular interaction with clients, contractors, colleagues and building occupiers will form an important part of the role, ensuring projects are delivered safely, professionally and to the highest technical standards.
Core Capabilities

Technical Learning Agility
  • You will thrive on developing specialist technical knowledge and applying it within real-world environments. This role will suit someone who enjoys learning, solving technical challenges and building expertise within a regulated industry. A genuine commitment to personal development and achieving apprenticeship milestones will be key to your success.
Health, Safety and Compliance Focus
  • Safety sits at the heart of everything we do. You'll develop a detailed understanding of health, safety and regulatory requirements while working within a highly controlled environment. Success in this role requires a disciplined approach, strong attention to detail and a commitment to following procedures that protect colleagues, clients and the wider public.
Data Accuracy and Technical Reporting
  • High-quality technical work relies on accurate information. You'll learn how to collect, manage and document survey findings, sample data and project information with precision. You'll be encouraged to ask questions, investigate challenges and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. An enquiring mindset and a desire to understand how things work will help you develop into a trusted technical professional.

About You

You’re someone who prefers being out on site rather than behind a desk, and you’re comfortable working in environments like construction, demolition, or industrial settings. Early starts, travel, and changing locations don’t put you off — in fact, you enjoy the variety and the sense of purpose that comes with hands-on work.

You take safety seriously and understand the importance of following procedures properly. Working to strict rules, method statements, and risk assessments feels natural to you, and you don’t cut corners. You’re calm, focused, and able to stay composed even in regulated environments where inspections, audits, or oversight are part of the job.

You’re practical by nature and learn best by doing. Repetition and routine don’t bother you — you see them as part of building consistency and getting things right every time. You’re comfortable using equipment, following technical processes, and working in PPE or RPE for extended periods when required.

You can work independently once trained, taking responsibility for your tasks, but you also communicate clearly with teammates and supervisors to make sure work is completed safely and correctly. You’re motivated by doing work that matters — contributing to environmental safety, compliance, and protecting public health.

You value clear expectations, stability, and progression. You’re interested in building a long-term career, developing your skills step by step, and moving forward into roles such as surveyor or analyst over time.

Please note: You must be 18+ due to the nature of the working environment
Please note: A full UK manual driving licence is required for this role

You’ll spend at least 6 hours per week on off-the-job training, including virtual learning, practical activities, and applied assignments.

About Tiro

We're Tiro (pronounced ‘Tea-ro’ as in white, two sugars).

In Latin, it means novice, recruit, apprentice, beginner and soldier. The perfect name for a company that’s been helping fearless apprentices to join ambitious businesses since 2005.

We believe that great apprenticeships help everyone. There are remarkable apprentices out there just waiting to be found, and fantastic employment opportunities waiting to be filled.

Our work will never be just about getting bums on seats and pocketing our commission. In our own small way, we’re helping to change the world – finding people that are working on COVID vaccines, finding new ways for technology to help humanity and helping to tackle the big issues of the day, like climate change. As well as helping people – young and old – to find their way.

Tiro’s proud to be playing our part in making that happen, and we can’t wait to find out what happens next…
