We are looking for an AS400 Developer to develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications while supporting system integrations, automation, reporting, and business-critical processes. This position will be full-time and Remote
What You'll Do
Develop new applications, reports, and customizations using RPG, COBOL, SQL, and AS/400 Control Language (CL)
Troubleshoot application issues, debug problems, and provide functional support to end users
Create and maintain interfaces between application modules and external systems or vendors
Write SQL queries and extract data for reports, dashboards, and automated notifications
Automate business processes and workflows through programming solutions
Analyze business requirements and translate user needs into technical specifications and program designs
Perform unit, integration, and system testing to ensure application reliability and performance
Create and maintain documentation throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, testing, and revisions
Enhance web-based user interfaces to improve usability and user experience
What You'll Need
Required:
4-6 Yrs experience developing applications using RPG, COBOL, SQL, and AS/400 Control Language (CL)
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
Experience creating and supporting system integrations and interfaces
Proficiency in SQL query development and data extraction
Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
Knowledge of software testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and system testing
Strong documentation and technical writing skills
Ability to support users and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred:
Experience with process automation and workflow development
Experience enhancing web-based user interfaces and user experience
Experience supporting enterprise business applications
Knowledge of system integration with third-party vendors
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
