AS400 Cobol Developer (with Italian)

We are seeking an experienced AS400 Cobol Developer to manage, optimize and maintain the IBM AS/400 (iSeries) infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong system administration skills, experience with DB2 for AS400, and fluency in Italian and English. This role involves ensuring system performance, security, and reliability while providing technical support and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor AS400 systems, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.

• Perform routine system maintenance, including backups, upgrades, and patch management.

• Configure and manage system resources, user profiles, and job queues.

Performance Optimization & Security:

• Analyze system performance metrics and implement optimization strategies.

• Ensure the security and integrity of AS400 systems, including access controls and compliance with organizational policies.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to maintain system stability.

Collaboration & Process Improvement:

• Collaborate with developers, database administrators, and business

  stakeholders to support application performance.
• Propose and implement automation solutions to streamline system administration tasks.

• Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.

Technical Documentation & Support:

• Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.

• Provide technical support to end-users and assist in training when necessary.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in AS400 system administration.

• Proficiency with CLP, system monitoring tools, and job scheduler management.

• Strong knowledge of DB2 for AS400 and SQL.

• Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.

• Problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills, able to work effectively with local and remote teams.

• Fluency in Italian and English (spoken & written) Mandatory.
