The Coordinator oversees arts and cultural programming including the Three Sisters Gallery, public and community art projects. Arts and Culture programming is culturally and artistically diverse and will involve Indigenous peoples as collaborators, presenters, educators and participants. The Coordinator oversees the ongoing maintenance and support of the public art inventory and program and provides program support to the Arts and Events team.

Core Accountabilities:
• Plan, implement and maximize community participation in identified community arts events and programs
• Oversee the Three Sisters Gallery including curation; artist selection including writing RFQ/RFPs and coordinating selection panel; preparing of artist contracts; installation; dismantling; and, handling of artwork
• Lead Arts and Culture programming logistics, promotion, venue coordination, on-site details, budgeting, contracting and reporting
• Develop strategies for building partnerships that support the objectives of Arts and Events
• Set up and dismantle infrastructure for events and activities as required
• Emcee community events and functions
• Identify and seek external funding and in kind contributions for arts and culture events and programs submit evaluation reports for relevant grants and funders
• Prepare event debrief reports and complete appropriate wrap up of files/documents including program evaluation and benchmarking of industry standards
• Liaise with Town departments, public utilities, consultants and contractors as required to produce quality programs, projects and events
• Ensure professional delivery of service
• Ensure that confidentiality is respected and maintained at all times

Education & Qualifications:
• University degree or College diploma in Fine Arts or Arts Administration
• Completion of practice based training program in the field of arts, culture or events administration or management
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers License - required

Experience:
• 3-6 years of related work experience
• Volunteer management knowledge and skills
• Administrative systems planning and implementation
• Knowledge of computer systems. Microsoft Office 2010; Adobe Creative Suite; basic web design; Mail Chimp; and Survey Monkey.
• Strong artistic background
• Event and risk management experience
• Ability to multi-task and work with distractions
• Knowledge of external arts and cultural activities, initiatives, and resources in the Bow Valley
• Self-motivated and independent
• Strong organizational skills
• Good time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and work under time pressure
• Experience in marketing and communications

Salary & Benefits:
• Pay Range - $38.20 to $42.69 per hour. Compensation will be calculated based on the successful candidate’s related work experience and education

Work Schedule:
• This is a full-time 35-hour a week position
• Typically, Monday to Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm
