We are searching for an Art Therapist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will implement and provide Art Therapy to help meet the emotional, developmental, and social needs of children in a health care setting. The Art Therapist also provides opportunities for children to gain a sense of mastery, offering learning experiences, and encouraging family and peer interaction.

Requirements
• Master’s degree required
• ATR-BC certification from the Art Therapy Credentials Board required
• 2 years of Art Therapy experience
• Previous employment in health care, a health care specialization in schooling or a field work practicum in health care preferred
Responsibilities
• Conducts formal and informal developmental assessments of psychosocial needs of patients and families for inpatients as evidenced by documentation in the medical record
• Assesses coping styles of patient and families during introduction of service to develop therapeutic plan of care that incorporates patient and family needs, interests and abilities
• Provides interventions that increase emotional support to patients and families during identified stress points in order to facilitate adaptive coping
• Plans and implements developmentally appropriate interventions according to the therapeutic plan developed to meet specific patient care goals
• Provides at least one programming in service regarding arts therapy and its benefits to an interdisciplinary team yearly
• Communicates the benefits of arts therapy to the health care team, as evidenced by participation in interdisciplinary rounds, unit based projects, and/or daily report
• Reviews Arts Therapy program yearly with leader to determine process or program improvements
• Participates in the development and education of creative arts therapy programming by sitting on departmental committee and/or task force
