We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position:
Position: Art Therapist
The Art Therapist help residents overcome emotional, mental, and behavioral difficulties caused by traumatic events by engaging and expressing themselves through the artistic process. To ensure the program provides comprehensive and integrated onsite social services, that helps residents restore and rebuild their lives while healing from their experience of domestic violence.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree and Limited Permit (LP-CAT) or License (LCAT) in art therapy or psychotherapy, and 2 years of experience working with victims of domestic violence and their families.
Art Therapist Principal Responsibilities:
1. Meet with residents to arrange art therapy sessions and activities.
2. Provide age-appropriate art therapy to children when applicable.
3. Guide clients through the creative process and encourage them to engage with their feelings and explore the thought processes behind them to promote healing.
4. Create and maintain a wellness and recovery-oriented environment by using person-first language, respectful documentation, person centered planning, and evidence-based practices.
5. Ensure support and education are provided and documented to assist residents in their transition into the community including referrals to appropriate social service agencies when the facility does not provide the needed service
6. Provide crisis intervention to clients when needed.
