POSITION TITLE: Art Teacher

DEPARTMENT: Middle School

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

PAY SCHEDULE: As per REA Collective Bargaining Agreement and experience

EFFECTIVE: 26-27 School Year

Qualifications

• A valid Michigan teaching certificate with a art endorsement (LQ, LX, or LZ for Grades 6-12).
• Major or Minor in Specified Content Area � (Minor must have passed the Specified Content Area - MTTC Test).
• Teaching experience in a multi-cultural setting.
• Knowledge of Common Core Art Content Standards, experience Unwrapping the Standards, and /or experience determining Power Standards, preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of multiple intervention strategies with individuals and groups.
• Familiar with Best Practice and Procedures for Art Education to establish a quality Middle School Art Program.
• Experience with Mastery Learning / OBE Outcome strategies.
• Awareness of the physical, social, emotional and mental development of the learner.
• Proficient and knowledgeable in the subject area.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents and staff.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of data and how it is used to inform instruction.
• Proficient with technology as an instructional tool.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• The employee must be able to use and operate a variety of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including the use of a computer keyboard.

• The employee must use keyboards, tools, and other controls.

• The employee must be able to move about the assigned work location during the day.
