The Graphic Artist – Product Stylization is responsible for enhancing products with custom graphic elements, patterns, and visual details that make them feel cute, expressive, and highly collectible.
This role also plays a key part in early-stage product development, helping to visually stylize product design briefs so that each concept starts with a clear, compelling creative direction.
You will work closely with product and design teams to ensure each item feels charming, cohesive, and emotionally engaging from concept through final production.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Stylization (Core Focus)
- Design graphic elements integrated directly into the product (printed tiles, patterns, facial expressions, small details)
- Add and stylized features that enhance the personality of each build. Determining whether certain products need “cute” vs “edge”
- Ensure graphics elevate the product without overcomplicating the build
2. Product Design Brief Stylization
- Translate product ideas into visually compelling design briefs
- Create mood boards, references, and initial graphic directions for new concepts
- Define the look, tone, and personality of each product before design begins
- Help guide product designers with a clear visual north star
3. Character & Expression Design
- Create facial expressions, eyes, and character details that bring builds to life
- Develop a consistent style language for cuteness and charm
- Adapt designs across different licenses while maintaining cohesion
4. Decorative & Surface Graphics
- Design patterns, textures, and decorative elements for bricks and accessories
- Enhance environments (flowers, props, backgrounds) with graphic detail
- Balance simplicity with visual richness
5. Collaboration with Product & Design Teams
- Work closely with brick designers to integrate graphics into builds
- Provide multiple stylistic directions and iterate quickly
- Ensure final product aligns with original creative vision
6. Licensing Adaptation
- Interpret licensor styles into brick-friendly graphics
- Ensure all character details and assets remain on-model and compliant
- Adjust stylization to balance licensor requirements with brand aesthetic
7. Print-Ready Artwork
- Prepare clean, production-ready artwork for printed elements
- Ensure designs translate well at small scale (tiny parts, limited colors)
- Work within manufacturing constraints (print limits, color count, size)
8. Style Development
- Help define and evolve the company’s signature style
- Contribute ideas for new product directions and visual themes
- Maintain consistency across product lines
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in graphic design, illustration, or product graphics
- Strong illustration skills with a focus on cute / stylized design
- Portfolio showing character work, patterns, and small-scale graphics
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience with toy, collectibles, or character-based products is a plus
