Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Art Director to join our team!


As an Art Director, you will lead and oversee the artistic and visual development of themed environments, attractions, and experiences. Working under the Executive Creative Director and in close collaboration with the Creative Director – Show, Media, Games and Gamification, you will ensure the creative vision is translated into compelling, buildable designs that are consistent, high quality, and aligned with storytelling objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Defining and overseeing the visual style, artistic direction, and aesthetic language for attractions, shows, and themed environments.
  • Ensuring creative vision and storytelling objectives are consistently reflected in scenic, graphic, and environmental design elements.
  • Leading development of design intent packages, translating creative concepts into clear visual direction for technical development and fabrication.
  • Reviewing and approving concept artwork, scenic treatments, colour palettes, graphics, signage, and themed finishes.
  • Managing and guiding the art and design team, including concept artists, scenic designers, and graphic designers.
  • Collaborating with architects, interior designers, show set designers, and technical teams to integrate artistic intent into buildable designs.
  • Providing artistic oversight during mock-ups, scenic fabrication, painting, installation, and final finishing to ensure fidelity to design intent.
  • Conducting site inspections and design reviews to verify materials, finishes, and visual elements meet project quality standards.
  • Coordinating with show technical teams, ride engineering, special effects, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of artistic elements.
  • Participating in creative workshops, stakeholder presentations, and design coordination meetings.
  • Managing relationships with scenic fabricators, graphic vendors, and external creative partners, including review of vendor submittals, samples, prototypes, and mock-ups.
  • Supporting project completion by providing design documentation, visual reference materials, and maintenance guidelines for operations teams.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Architecture, Theatre/Scenic Design, Industrial Design, Environmental Design, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in themed entertainment, theme parks, film production design, scenic design, or immersive environments.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale themed entertainment or international attraction projects.
  • Strong professional portfolio showing leadership in themed environments, scenic design, environmental graphics, and immersive storytelling.
  • Proven experience delivering projects from concept through fabrication, installation, and opening.
  • Strong knowledge of scenic fabrication techniques, materials, finishes, and themed surface treatments.
  • Experience coordinating with architecture, ride systems, show technology, and construction teams.
  • Proven ability to lead creative teams.
  • Proficiency with design and visualization tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar software.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Experience on major theme park, destination entertainment, or immersive attraction projects.
  • Experience in show production, live entertainment, show signage and graphics, and media with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
