Job Description

Armed Officer in San Francisco $104,000.00 to $114,000.00

  • Must have 6+ years Law Enforcement Experience
  • Must have Armed Guard License
  • Must have CCW
  • Have a reliable means of transportation

Position Overview

A discreet, hospitality-forward protective presence across the campus — a polished building professional with high situational awareness, judgment, and readiness. Value comes from anticipation, relationship-building, and de-escalation, not visible enforcement or tactical presentation. The firearm is an emergency protective tool, not the identity of the role.

Role Purpose

  • Provide discreet protective capability within a high-profile Class A office campus
  • Identify and communicate emerging concerns before they become incidents
  • Coordinate with Building Management, Director of Security, SOC, Securitas, law enforcement, and visiting protective details
  • Provide trained protective response during serious security or life-safety events

Reporting Structure & Authority

  • Non-supervisory specialist role; does not manage Securitas or replace the Director of Security
  • Coordinates daily with the Director of Security; supports, never competes with, visiting protective details or public-safety agencies on scene

Core Responsibilities

  • Hospitality & Protective Presence — polished presence in lobbies/common areas; engage naturally while remaining alert; de-escalate via courtesy and redirection
  • Situational Awareness — continuously assess for pre-incident indicators; report verified observations promptly to the Director of Security/SOC
  • Executive/VIP & Protective Detail Coordination — support senior executive and official visits; coordinate access/routes; defer to lead protective operation
  • Incident & Emergency Response — respond to medical, fire/life-safety, threat, and violent-behavior events; force only when legally justified, necessary, and proportionate; not a detention/enforcement role
  • Communication & Reporting — maintain contemporaneous notes; complete Daily Activity Reports; immediately report any use of force or firearm display

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years in law enforcement, federal protective services, executive protection, military protective operations, or high-profile corporate security
  • Plainclothes/low-profile protective experience in a civilian setting strongly preferred
  • Documented firearms proficiency and a record of professional restraint and judgment
  • Strong interpersonal presence with executives, tenants, and law enforcement without a tactical posture
  • Excellent written/verbal communication; current CPR/AED and First Aid (or obtainable before assignment)

California Licensing & Armed Assignment Requirements

  • Current CA BSIS Security Guard Registration (when performed as a registered guard) and BSIS Firearms Permit matching carried caliber
  • For concealed carry in civilian clothes: valid CA CCW or qualifying peace-officer concealed-carry authority
  • Current firearms requalification/training; compliance with all site-specific carry restrictions and post orders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Executive/dignitary-protection experience; federal, state, or local law-enforcement background
  • CA POST Intermediate Certificate, formal EP training, or ASIS CPP/PSP certification
  • Experience in Class A office towers or high-profile public-facing properties; SF public-safety/protest-planning familiarity

Professional Standards — Non-Negotiable

  • Hospitality first, security always: professional, calm, and respectful in routine interactions
  • Business-professional attire — no tactical clothing, exposed holster, or visible security indicators; concealed means concealed
  • No implication of police powers beyond those actually held by law; strict discretion on tenants, VIPs, and operations
  • De-escalation and coordination are the default; unilateral enforcement is not
