Job Location: Bethany Children's Health Center - Bethany, OK 73008,

Job Shift: Direct Patient Care, The Teacher Assistant supports the Special Education Teacher and ARFAC programming in planning and implementing educational programming, activities, and special events for the patients. This position assists with the daily activities and special events in the ARFAC building, assists in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in each of the ARFAC areas and provides developmentally appropriate interactions and opportunities for success during all events/activities.

• Plans, prepares, and implements daily ARFAC activities as they relate to educational programming plans as well as assists with group activities, events, and outings.

• Sets up and maintains learning environments by completing basic therapy/education equipment maintenance and by keeping toys, devices, supplies, and cabinets sanitized and organized.

• Provides children with developmentally appropriate interactions and opportunities during activities.
• 30%
• Assists rehab innovation team, rehab/edu team, nursing, etc. with miscellaneous projects and/or patient needs.
• 15%
• Remains up to date on documentation, team communications, competency trainings, and project participation.
• 10%
• Other duties as assigned
• 5%

Qualifications

• Education:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience:
• Minimum 1 year experience working with children with special needs in an educational classroom setting preferred.
• License/Certification/Credential:
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
