Rate of Pay £67.44- £89.00 per hour
The Area Team Leader / Building Control Officer Class 3H RBI is responsible for leading and managing a professional Building Control team to ensure the effective delivery of Building Regulation compliance, enforcement, and public safety services across the city. The postholder will support the Head of Building Control in delivering statutory Building Control functions, implementing service policies, maintaining operational standards, and supporting the Building Safety Regulator in accordance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated legislation. The role involves managing complex and high-risk building projects, supervising Building Control Officers, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, monitoring performance against KPIs and Operational Standards Rules, and delivering responsive customer-focused services to internal and external stakeholders.
