Job Description

The Area Supervisor is responsible for overseeing janitorial operations at multiple client locations within an assigned territory. This position ensures sites maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, quality, and customer service while managing frontline employees, scheduling, training, and operational performance. The Area Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for customers and works closely with management to support operational goals and contract compliance.

Compensation: $50,000.00 annual salary (US Dollars)

The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program

401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For the next 2%, ABM contributes $0.50 for each dollar you contribute. Your contributions and match are immediately vested.

ABM Employee Benefits: Staff & Mgmt

  • Supervise janitorial staff across multiple facilities and shifts.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with company and client cleanliness standards.
  • Monitor staffing levels and coordinate employee schedules to meet operational requirements.
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and train janitorial personnel.
  • Coach, mentor, and discipline employees as needed while maintaining positive employee relations.
  • Perform quality assurance audits and implement corrective action plans when deficiencies are identified.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA regulations, safety programs, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and consumables.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and replacement needs.
  • Respond promptly to customer requests, concerns, and service issues.
  • Prepare reports related to labor hours, inspections, payroll, attendance, and operational performance.
  • Support budget and labor management initiatives to achieve financial objectives.
  • Assist with special projects, floor care programs, and emergency cleaning services as required.
  • Travel between assigned customer locations to monitor operations and provide leadership support.

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in janitorial, custodial, facilities services, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience managing employee schedules and labor assignments.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications and mobile technology.

Preferred

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Experience managing multiple sites or geographic territories.
  • Knowledge of floor care, carpet care, and specialized cleaning procedures.
  • Previous experience in commercial facilities, aviation, healthcare, education, or industrial environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, reaching, and climbing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when business needs require.

Work Environment

  • Multiple facility locations within an assigned territory.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, equipment, and varying environmental conditions.
  • Frequent local travel between customer sites.
