Job Description

Kemin Nutrisurance Europe is looking for a motivated Area Sales Manager – Western Europe to join our Sales team. This role is responsible for achieving the sales and gross margin targets within the assigned region. The successful candidate will provide leadership, managerial support, coaching, mentoring, and strategic guidance to the Sales Managers on their team.

In addition, the Area Sales Manager will support Sales Managers in overseeing sales projects, allocating resources effectively, and removing obstacles that could impact their performance and productivity.

The role will focus on Pet Food and Rendering solutions

He/she will coordinate the sales team in Spain, Portugal and France.

Responsibilities

As an Area Sales Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

    • Responsible for achieving the budgeted sales and margin of the assigned accounts.
    • Responsible for monitoring the competitive activity and market trends within their area and reporting those trends to the Commercial Director on a periodic basis.
    • Provide leadership, managerial support, coaching and mentoring, and strategic assistance to the Sales Managers.
    • Support the Sales Managers with management of sales projects, the allocation of resources and clearing of hurdles that may hinder the effectiveness of the sales managers.
    • Allocating resources for the Country/Sales Managers.
    • Meet the collective budgeted sales and gross margin.
    • Set the annual sales budget & commercial strategy together with respective member of leadership team.
    • Liaise with other Area Sales Managers and learn of successes/failures, new ideas, new products, opportunities that may be transplanted in their area.

Qualifications

  • Education and knowledge in biology or chemistry – enabling technical discussions
  • Experience/knowledge of the pet food industry.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French, Spanish and Portuguese.
  • Experience in sales project management.
  • High motivation, energy, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently on business.
