As an Area Sales Manager, you'll work closely with key customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders while mentoring a team that directly impacts business success.

What's involved

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Commercial sales professionals in the Builders market, helping them achieve their goals while building capability for the future.
• Shape and execute regional sales strategies that drive sustainable growth, customer engagement and profitability.
• Partner with key customers and stakeholders to strengthen relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Use market trends, customer insights and competitor intelligence to influence commercial decisions and uncover growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with stores, Trade Centres, Customer Service teams and support functions to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement across your team.
• Support succession planning, talent development and training initiatives that help team members grow their careers.
• Balance strategic planning with hands-on leadership to achieve sales targets and business objectives.

About You

You're an experienced sales leader who enjoys developing people, building strong relationships and delivering results through teamwork. You know how to bring out the best in others, create a positive team environment and maintain focus on what matters most for customers and the business.

What you'll need

• Proven success in sales leadership, account management or commercial leadership roles.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
• Strong understanding of the building, construction or related industry.
• Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and build long-term customer relationships.
• Experience developing sales strategies, business plans and growth initiatives.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen, including the ability to interpret sales performance and market trends.
• Experience working with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Construction industry and/or product knowledge would be advantageous.
