We are seeking an experienced and results-driven
Area Sales Manager – Ice Cream Business
to lead and expand our ice cream sales operations across Nairobi and Mombasa. The ideal candidate will possess extensive networks within the
HORECA sector (Hotels, Restaurants, Cafés)
, eateries, and key retail outlets. This role requires a proven track record in cold chain product sales, distribution management, and team leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving market growth, ensuring asset optimization, and maintaining superior customer relationships within the highly competitive FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Business Development
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share targets for the ice cream business.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners in
HORECA, eateries, and wholesale outlets
.
Identify new business opportunities and lead market expansion initiatives in assigned regions.
Cold Chain Management & Asset Control
Oversee deployment, utilization, and maintenance of
cold chain assets
including freezers and display units.
Ensure optimal product handling, storage, and delivery standards to maintain product quality and integrity.
Monitor asset ROI and minimize losses through effective tracking and accountability systems.
Team Management & Performance Oversight
Lead, coach, and develop the sales team to meet and exceed performance objectives.
Conduct regular performance reviews and field visits to provide feedback and ensure execution excellence.
Foster a culture of discipline, teamwork, and customer-centric service within the sales force.
Market Intelligence & Strategy Execution
Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management on pricing, promotions, and distribution.
Drive visibility and product placement strategies tailored to the ice cream segment.
Operational Coordination & Reporting
Work closely with logistics, marketing, and finance teams to ensure smooth delivery and trade execution.
Prepare detailed reports on sales performance, asset utilization, and market coverage.
Ensure all sales operations adhere to company policies, compliance standards, and safety requirements
Bachelor’s degree in
Business Management, Marketing, or a related field
.
Minimum
10–12 years of progressive sales experience
within the FMCG industry, with at least mandatory
5 years dedicated to ice cream or cold chain product sales
.
Demonstrated success in
cold chain asset deployment, control, and performance monitoring
.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Proven experience managing sales teams and achieving growth targets.
Strong network within
HORECA, eateries, and key distributors
.
Must possess a
valid driving license
and
own a personal vehicle (logbook in candidate’s name)
.
Excellent analytical, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
