Job Purpose

The Area Sales Director, Cardiology (ASD) is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing Molecular Imaging commercial team focused on the growth and adoption of Bracco’s Molecular Imaging portfolio within cardiology. This role provides strategic leadership to Molecular Imaging Account Managers and partners closely with Clinical Applications Specialists to drive customer success, clinical adoption, market development, and revenue growth across the assigned geography.

The ASD is accountable for achieving sales objectives, developing strategic customer relationships, expanding IDN and enterprise partnerships, and executing commercial initiatives that support long-term business growth. This leader will coach and develop direct reports, foster a culture of accountability and collaboration, and serve as a key liaison between Sales, Marketing, Operations, Clinical Applications, and Executive Leadership.

The successful candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, experience in complex healthcare selling environments, and a demonstrated ability to lead teams within diagnostic imaging, molecular imaging, cardiology, or related healthcare markets.

This position will focus on the territory encompassing the West region which includes the following states: WA, OR, CA, NV, AZ, UT, ID, MT, WY, CO, NM, and TX. Candidates located in this region and familiar with this territory are highly preferred.

Main Responsibilities, Activities, Duties and Tasks

  • Achievement of Company Objectives
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Molecular Imaging commercial team within the assigned geography to achieve and exceed sales, market development, and customer retention objectives.
  • Drive strategic growth initiatives across cardiology practices, IDNs, health systems, and enterprise accounts.
  • Partner closely with Clinical Applications Specialists to ensure successful customer onboarding, clinical implementation, training, and ongoing utilization growth.
  • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers, physician leaders, administrators, and industry stakeholders.
  • Develop business strategies and account plans designed to accelerate adoption of cardiac PET and molecular imaging solutions.
  • Accurately forecast business performance and communicate trends, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Identify strategic business opportunities and competitive risks and proactively develop plans to grow and protect market share.
  • Team Management and Development
  • Lead and develop Molecular Imaging Account Managers through structured coaching, field engagement, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Foster a high-performance culture centered on accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and continuous development.
  • Partner closely with Clinical Applications Specialists to support clinical excellence, customer education, implementation success, and long-term customer retention.
  • Serve as the primary commercial leader within the assigned geography, aligning sales execution, clinical adoption, customer engagement, and strategic growth initiatives across the Molecular Imaging business.
  • Conduct routine field visits and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and career development support for team members.
  • Communicate business priorities, strategic initiatives, and organizational objectives through effective field communication and leadership engagement.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities including territory planning, forecasting, performance evaluations, business reviews, and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, onboarding, and recruiting efforts.
  • Business Development
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Clinical Applications, and Executive Leadership to support strategic commercial initiatives and market development programs.
  • Support the successful launch and adoption of new products, technologies, software solutions, and strategic initiatives within the Molecular Imaging portfolio.
  • Develop and execute strategies focused on customer expansion, utilization growth, and long-term enterprise partnerships.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for operational improvements, customer experience enhancements, and commercial effectiveness initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and leadership initiatives supporting broader business objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly leads and develops Molecular Imaging Account Managers within the assigned geography and works in close partnership with Clinical Applications Specialists to support customer implementation, clinical excellence, training, and ongoing program success. The Area Sales Director is responsible for creating a high-performance, collaborative culture focused on customer outcomes, strategic growth, and operational excellence.

Education

  • BA/BS Degree in Business, Science, Healthcare, or related field preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license without restrictions and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Field Sales Credentialing demands various vaccination and background check requirements. Candidates must comply with all credentialing obligations, including drug screening requirements, to maintain access to healthcare facilities conducting business with Bracco.
  • COVID-19 vaccination requirements subject to applicable laws and customer credentialing requirements.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in healthcare sales leadership, diagnostic imaging, molecular imaging, cardiology, or related healthcare markets preferred.
  • Experience leading teams in complex, multi-level healthcare selling environments.
  • Experience working with cardiology practices, IDNs, health systems, and physician leadership strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of strategic account management, market development, and enterprise selling principles.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and talent development experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, business planning, and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Moderate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and CRM platforms.
