Echo IQ is a cardiology-focused artificial intelligence company redefining how echocardiography data is used at the point of care. Our real-time, measurement-based AI delivers diagnostic insights within seconds directly into the clinical workflow, enabling cardiologists to identify and manage conditions such as aortic stenosis and heart failure more efficiently and accurately. As the company gains FDA clearance and expands its heart failure indication, Echo IQ is entering a critical growth phase with a significant market opportunity ahead.
The Area Sales Director is a senior individual contributor responsible for driving adoption of Echo IQ’s AI solutions across a defined, high-opportunity territory. This role requires strong cardiology credibility, comfort navigating complex hospital and private practice buying environments, and the urgency to execute in a startup setting. Territories are designed around echocardiography volume and key metros rather than strict geographic boundaries. This is a field-based role focused on building pipeline, advancing multi-threaded opportunities, and closing subscription-based SaaS agreements.

  • EchoSolv AS is a measurement-only AI software that, in seconds, helps you identify patients at high risk of severe aortic stenosis (AS), which has been shown to have up to a 73.5% five-year mortality rate. EchoSolv AS supports consistent evaluation, with an AUROC of 0.927, resulting in consistent accuracy across age, sex, and race.
  • EchoSolv HF is awaiting approval from the FDA.

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong cardiology domain experience, ideally in heart failure, aortic stenosis, structural heart, EP, or adjacent cardiovascular markets
  • Experience selling into hospitals and/or private cardiology practices
  • Startup mindset with a bias toward action and ownership
  • Comfort selling software or AI-enabled solutions is a plus, but not required if cardiology credibility is strong
  • Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
  • Sense of urgency and accountability
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and help build, not just execute, a sales organization

Education and background:

  • 3–8+ years of sales experience in cardiology, medical devices, healthcare SaaS, or SaMD
  • Demonstrated success carrying a quota and closing complex healthcare deals
  • Experience in early-stage or growth-stage environments preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees a plus

Job Requirements

  • Own full-cycle sales responsibility within your territory, from prospecting through close
  • Identify and qualify new opportunities across private cardiology practices, PE-backed platforms, regional health systems, national systems, and academic centers
  • Navigate complex, committee-driven sales processes, including cardiology leadership, IT, PACS, AI governance, and finance
  • Drive urgency and momentum through long and short sales cycles simultaneously
  • Build and manage a balanced funnel of large health systems and faster-moving private accounts
  • Collaborate closely with clinical, product, and marketing teams to support adoption and expansion
  • Serve as a trusted partner to cardiologists by clearly articulating clinical, operational, and economic value
  • Accurately forecast, track activity, and manage pipeline using CRM tools

Compensation Information

  • Base Salary: $135,000+ commensurate with experience
  • Variable Comp: $165,000, uncapped
  • Total Comp: $300,000+
