We're hiring an Area Manager of Construction Materials to manage large-scale operations, lead a diverse team, and drive strategic execution across multiple projects. If you are an experienced construction materials professional with proven leadership, financial management, and operational expertise, we invite you to join our team and play a key role in driving growth and operational excellence.

Things You’ll Do

  • Lead and oversee operations across multiple plants and facilities within the assigned geographic area to ensure safety, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing employees while overseeing hiring, promotions, performance management, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure all employees maintain required training, certifications, and compliance standards.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to Plant Managers and Materials Sales Representatives to achieve operational and sales objectives.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to meet profitability targets.
  • Directly accountable for the overall financial performance and results of the assigned area, including achieving revenue, profitability, expense management, and operational performance goals.
  • Monitor and analyze operational, production, sales, and financial performance metrics, implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, contractors, and industry partners.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow market share and secure major contracts.
  • Partner with Plant Managers to review cost controls, revenue performance, and operational efficiencies.
  • Oversee account receivable activities, including collections efforts and coordination with credit management on delinquent accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, environmental regulations, and applicable laws.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Lead special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in construction management or related field.
  • Ten years of progressive experience in experience in construction environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills.
  • Ability to review and analyze financial information.
  • Strategic thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and department of transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook skills.
  • Literate in Heavy Construction Systems Specialists (HCSS), Heavy Bid, and BCMI
