About the Unit

Yara is the world's largest producer of ammonia, nitrates and NPKs, offering solutions for sustainable agriculture respecting the environment. Our fertilizers and our crop nutrition programs were designed to help the sector of food production and to meet the needs of a growing world population. Our products and solutions help industry reduce emissions, improve air quality and prioritize effective operations safely. Yara Africa & Asia (YAA) produces, sells, distributes and markets fertilizers and industrial products across Asia Pacific and Africa regions, with offices location and operational units in 20 countries. The region employs over 1800 employees and has a long history in the Asian Pacific and African markets, focusing on develop crop nutrition concepts that increase food production and create value to the growers, in particular smallholder farmers, whilst minimizing environmental impact of agricultural activities. YAA is currently undergoing a major transformation, aimed at shifting the existing business models, generating new revenue streams and ultimately delivering profit through new Farming Solutions related activities.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the operations of multiple locations within a particular region
  • Managing budgets, staffing, and customer relations at multiple locations
  • Identifying and addressing operational issues or challenges within the region
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations within the region
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within the region, including customers, employees, and local community leaders
  • Ensuring that all locations within the region are meeting the organization's performance standards and goals

HESQ and Ethics & Compliance

  • Work in accordance with H&S policy and relevant legislation, Yara safety and security principles and golden rules
  • Always act in accordance with Ethics & Compliance policy as defined by Yara globally

Profile

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, marketing, or a related field. Long relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in sales function and at least 3 years in a managerial role
  • Experiences in Dealer and Sub-Dealer channel

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of business operations, including budgeting, resource allocation, and performance management
  • Experience in budgeting, resource allocation, customer service, and problem solving
  • Strong track record of success in managing people and operations
  • Strong communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers, and other stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and manage a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and make decisions under pressure
  • Ability to manipulate financial and business data and understand the outputs of this data
  • Proficiency with relevant computer programs and technology, such as spreadsheet and project management.

Other requirements

  • Fluent in English & Thai
  • Driving License required
  • Ability to travel as needed
