Job Description

The Area Controller position has accountability for providing accurate and timely accounting of EMEAI GI Powder sites and Minerbio Liquid and other activities including implementation of internal controls to safeguard assets, accuracy of inventory and expense charges, and to maintain the reporting and recording of all production activity (raw materials, conversions, and finished goods).

  • Develop Annual Operating S&E and Capital Budgets for multiple direct and indirect plants, in conjunction with sites’ respective finance personnel. This includes working with the Plant Managers and Operating Groups to develop timely and accurate cost centre budgets to be previewed and approved by the Region Finance Director and submitted to Global Supply Chain Accounting on or before scheduled due dates.
  • Prepare monthly site financial reports, or where applicable, oversee the preparation of monthly site financial reporting by site finance personnel. This financial data should be reviewed with the Regional Managerial Team during the monthly operating review.
  • Develop and review internal controls to protect assets, maintain accuracy in records, comply with GAAP, and report information to Plant Management.
  • Responsible for capitalizing assets, tracking capital spending on a monthly basis, and assisting with capital project management by partnering with site and project specific engineering teams. Project management encompasses the existing EMEAI model including but not limited to spend tracking, recurring steering committee reporting, post project completion payback validation, etc. In region finance support will be leveraged where applicable.
  • Assist plant personnel in developing, reviewing, and preparing cost improvement projects.
  • Provide information to the departmental managers concerning variances and aid them in reducing these variances.
  • Partner with Plant Manager in setting goals, writing appraisals, and providing training requirements in a timely manner for all subordinates.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Must have at least 2 years of accounting/finance experience within GSC organisation,
  • Previous supervisory/managerial experience preferred.
  • Previous experience as Industrial controller would be preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in English + any other local language,
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Extensive knowledge of Sherwin-Williams GSC systems
  • Travel requirements: Up to 25%
