The Area Director of Brands & Marketing is responsible for executing a proactive, effective marketing strategy which maximizes revenue, enhances web presence and increases guest loyalty for each property in the market (Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa + Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman), while supporting IHG marketing goals and strategies. Collaborate with General Manager, Sales, Revenue Management, Restaurant Marketing, Director of Entertainment, People & Culture (HR), Distribution teams, other market-specific team members, as well as Home Office team members, to ensure that our digital presence is always aligned with brand language and guidelines.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Media planning, execution, and management with a focus on budget, return on investment, performance metrics, through various digital marketing activities that include but are not limited to; organic search (SEO), paid search (PPC), meta search, remarketing, media buying, display, link acquisition, local search, and social media marketing; carried out in conjunction with partner firms and regional digital marketing directors.
  • Management of hotel websites and development of improved content areas with attention to brand compliant look and feel, presentation of the product both visually and textually, ease of site navigation and access to purchasing information, along with site analytics.
  • Assist Revenue Management and Distribution teams within the assigned market with strategies and tactics to increase contribution of reservations through brand website and hotel websites.
  • Work with hotel Leadership to market all areas of the hotel including Restaurants, Events, Spa, and Camp Seafire, among others.
  • Support People & Culture department with internal marketing.
  • Provide oversight and management supervision to Marketing Managers and Coordinator.
  • Manage paid search, display, paid listings, and pay-for-performance advertising opportunities on various third-party channels and websites.
  • Conduct audits of website content and images to ensure its accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Conduct regular audits and identify key areas of opportunity for content management across digital assets and other online entities, such as travel review sites; carried out in conjunction with area team.
  • Participate in and help lead hotel and market-specific strategy sessions, hotel digital marketing review calls, as well as weekly/monthly calls for hotel watch list and yield meetings.
  • Participate in weekly and regularly scheduled departmental meetings with Sales, Digital Marketing and Revenue/Distribution teams.
  • Monitor, measure, and analyze campaign performance metrics, digital activity data and market research findings on weekly basis, with the ability to immediately identify and react to changes; design test strategies to optimize results.
  • Make use of Kimpton web analytics and market research tools to gauge campaign performance, spot trends, and provide monthly reports to hotel leadership teams.
  • Actively make recommendations and follow established brand strategies to improve creative and copy development, to increase results and meet performance objectives and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Coordinate strategic and tactical information between outside vendors and team members to establish a pace of accomplishment; cultivate vendors' understanding of the Kimpton brand and specific hotel properties; develop understanding of their business requirements and articulate their needs to the hotel to enhance processes.
  • Act as a participant and consultant in all relevant areas of social media, to engage customers with hotel properties and the brand to teach other team members standard methodologies for participation in social media.
  • Stay current on emerging technology, providers, and trends that could have a positive impact on hotel digital presence, revenue derived from digital efforts, and the overall performance of Kimpton digital marketing initiatives.
  • Utilize graphic design skills using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Canva.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Director of Marketing in luxury hotels
  • 3+ years of experience in Digital Marketing, content development, web analytics, and social media marketing; you have hands-on digital marketing experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Expert in graphic design using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Canva.
  • Proficient in photo editing using Adobe Photoshop.
  • Keen eye for detail and ability to create visually stunning content.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for the hotel and food & beverage industry with a foodie personality
  • A skilled management style that exemplifies strong leadership and consulting capabilities, and able to effectively prioritize and delegate tasks and projects.
  • Experience managing direct report(s) with a track record of motivating a team and encouraging internal growth.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, experienced with interpreting critical metrics and analytics data. Experience with Google Analytics and/or Adobe Site Catalyst, Google Adwords, and Tableau preferred.
  • Firm grasp of how to test marketing tactics and achieve performance metrics.
  • Experienced with spreadsheet and presentation applications, possessing the aptitude and desire to learn new technology.
  • To excel in this position, you need to be a social media ninja with the ability to create visually stunning content, and you must be proficient in graphic design.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, including excellent copywriting skills with a deep understanding of brand language (social media posts, newsletters, website updates, advertising, guest communication)
  • Well organized, with a high sense of accountability and integrity.
  • Ability to effectively translate vision into tangible actions, lead and develop a team, handle challenging situations diplomatically, maintain professionalism, and adapt quickly to market changes and needs.
  • This position requires a flexible schedule, must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The salary range for this role is US $155,000 - $165,000 per annum. This job is also eligible for bonus pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k, and many other benefits to eligible employees.
