Job Specific Working Conditions:
Henderson County Young Life is seeking a new Area Director. “Hendo YL” is a strong area in the beautiful small-town of Hendersonville in the mountains of Western NC- just outside of Asheville and within a 45 minute drive of TWO Young Life camps (Windy Gap and Carolina Point). In 2015, a core group of interested adults began meeting and praying for God to bring Young Life to this community. Out of that core group, a Young Life Committee was formed, funds were raised, and the first Area Director was hired in 2017. Since that time, leadership, Club, Campaigners, the Committee, a tradition of Camping, and a strong donor base have been established and continue to grow and thrive.
By God’s grace, the area is in a strong place financially and still has room for continued growth. We have a group of very committed adult volunteer leaders who have depth spiritually and a huge heart for kids. YL leaders have a ministry presence at two of the four public high schools in the area currently. A great foundation for Young Life has been laid in Henderson County and is ready for an effective Area Director to use this platform to carry out our mission to kids, impact lives, and make significant change in our community through the Gospel.
We are looking for an Area Director with personal depth with Jesus and a heart for others to grow in Christ and reach the lost. We are seeking someone to help us develop our current ministries and eventually grow into the other high schools in the county. Young Life is a world class organization for adolescents. Our staff and volunteers enter the world of kids, focusing on what matters to them -- fun, adventure, friendship and a sense of significance. In doing so, we earn the privilege of talking to them about something that we believe matters most of all -- the truth about God and His love for them.
