The Area Credit Manager will be responsible for managing the credit portfolio and ensuring healthy asset quality within the Kurnool region. This role involves leading a team to assess creditworthiness, approve loans, and manage risk effectively.
Job Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage the entire credit process, from application to disbursement and recovery, within the assigned Kurnool area.
* Lead, mentor, and manage a team of credit officers, ensuring adherence to credit policies and procedures.
* Conduct comprehensive credit appraisals and financial analysis of loan applications to assess repayment capacity and risk.
* Make informed credit decisions and recommendations in line with company policies and risk appetite.
* Monitor portfolio performance, identify early warning signals, and implement proactive measures to mitigate credit risk.
* Develop and implement strategies for improving asset quality and reducing non-performing assets (NPAs).
* Ensure compliance with all internal credit policies, regulatory guidelines, and statutory requirements.
* Collaborate with sales and operations teams to achieve business targets while maintaining credit quality.
* Prepare and present regular credit reports and portfolio reviews to senior management.
* Conduct field visits to assess borrower profiles and collateral, as needed.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CA, CFA) preferred.
* Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in credit management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the financial services sector.
* In-depth knowledge of credit appraisal techniques, financial statement analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.
* Strong understanding of local market dynamics and economic conditions in the Kurnool region.
* Proven track record of managing a healthy credit portfolio and achieving asset quality targets.
* Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Fluency in English and Telugu is essential.
