Hato Hone St John has been serving New Zealanders since 1885. Today, our 11,000-strong team of kaimahi work across Aotearoa to enhance the health and wellbeing of our communities. From responding to 111 calls to supporting people to stay healthy through our mahi in health education, access, and monitoring, we are making life-changing differences every day.

The secretary is the chief organiser of the committee. They:

  • ensure everyone has everything they need to make the meeting run smoothly in plenty of time
  • take minutes of all the decisions and actions decided upon at the meeting
  • support the chairperson
  • coordinates all the correspondence for the committee (both during and between meetings)

St John is well known around the world for helping enrich the health and wellbeing of global communities. Although we operate and are funded entirely independently here in New Zealand, we’re proud to be a part of this important and long established Order.
